Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, known as The Good Brothers, recently made a significant return to the wrestling scene. They participated in NJPW Resurgence, teaming with The Young Bucks. The following day, the duo also appeared at Maple Leaf Pro’s Northern Rising event, marking a busy re-entry.
Their latest tenure with WWE concluded in February amidst a series of talent releases. Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast, Doc Gallows provided insight into their mindset following their WWE exit. He revealed a shared sentiment of stagnation during their most recent stint with the company.
Gallows explained their immediate focus after the release. “We had felt so stagnant and we were talking all the time like, ‘How do we get out of this? What do we do?’ So the way that it ended up and the way that the dates lined up because we both got on the phone and said, ‘We have to go to Japan. We have to work in Japan. We have to be in New Japan one way or another’.”

The timing of their WWE non-compete clause ending aligned serendipitously with NJPW’s plans. “Our 90 days ends May the 8th and in Los Angeles, in Ontario, California which is 100 percent Good Brother town… It lined up perfectly. One day after the 90 days is up, there’s a New Japan Pro-Wrestling pay-per-view in California,” Gallows noted.
The NJPW Resurgence event held special significance for them. “The name of the show being (NJPW) Resurgence couldn’t be better because it truly is a resurgence for us,” Gallows stated. He emphasized the positive nature of their departure from WWE, despite Anderson’s prior injury.
At the event, they reunited with The Young Bucks and faced a new iteration of the BULLET CLUB, the War Dogs. Gallows commented, “There’s an opportunity for us to come in to reunite with The Young Bucks, to fight this new sht-talking version of the BULLET CLUB, the War Dogs, that remind us so much of us when we were starting out and forming the thing.”*
Reflecting on their current situation, Gallows expressed gratitude and renewed determination. “It just couldn’t have come together more perfectly. Ultimately, we’re super thankful for that and probably more motivated and clear-headed than we’ve ever been,” he concluded.
