WWE is reportedly targeting a marquee singles match between CM Punk and John Cena for later in 2025, according to PWInsider Elite. This highly anticipated clash, however, is not currently scheduled for the upcoming Money in the Bank event.
Several WWE creative sources indicated to PWInsider Elite that Punk versus Cena is not part of existing Money in the Bank plans. One source did state the company intends to hold the match “when the timing is right” this year.
The desire for this encounter is heightened by John Cena’s announcement that 2025 will be his final year of competition. Their 2011 Money in the Bank match remains a landmark moment in their careers.
